…seems such an apt, if not entirely plagiarised*, title for my latest post. After 4 years of striving to live an endless summer - through the Caribbean, Med, Pacific and Indian Oceans – I’ve made a radical adjustment in altitude, and in temperature.
A series of serendipitous events have washed me up, high on the Verbier plateau in the Swiss Alps.
More attuned to staring at blue horizons, my rentinal canvas is now awash with snow-capped peaks.
The addictive grandeur of the mountains is truly hard to put into words. The nestled sensation of ‘place’ is such a contrast to the mood of limitless ocean horizons.
So, for now, I’ve traded my dive mask for ski goggles and my surfboard for skis. And, battling through the black-hole of Swiss administration I’ve emerged surprisingly unscathed. My business is now registered in Switzerland, and it’s my current base for local and international projects, both commercial and personal.
It’s been a great start to the winter, with some serious dumps of snow throughout December. Altus magazine has just run a 6-page portfolio feature of my work which is a real honour! It was a genuine surprise to also make the front cover. Very happy indeed!
